Virginia-based defense company Northrop Grumman and Mississippi-based Camgian, a software development company, recently entered into a strategic collaboration to advance Camgian’s innovative artificial intelligence platform.

The Reactor AI platform will be used to enhance command and fire control capabilities for American and allied forces.

“The opportunity to harness Camgian’s AI capabilities will enhance the precision, adaptability and overall performance of our command and fire control systems,” Jeremy Knupp, Northrop Grumman vice president of global command and control solutions, said. “This collaboration will strengthen our ability to fuse complex data into an accurate battlespace picture, enabling warfighters to better respond to evolving threats.”

The companies plan to boost Northrop Grumman technologies with enhanced automation, threat optimization and operator decision support to give warfighters the tools for more rapid, informed decisions while reducing cognitive overload in high-pressure environments. It is part of Northrop Grumman’s modernization efforts for Integrated Battle Command System, a system that delivers fire control quality data and battle management, unifying current and future systems regardless of source, service or domain.

The system fuses sensor data for a single actionable picture of the full battlespace. It is in full rate production and has been fielded in Europe and the Indo-Pacific to include Guam as part of the U.S. Army program of record for integrated air and missile defense modernization.
