CBP agents arrest alleged murderer, sex offender and drug trafficker in one week

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents stationed in New Mexico arrested several people, including a convicted murderer, a sex offender and drug smugglers, in a series of incidents last week.

The first incident occurred on Monday when horse patrol agents detected suspicious activity south of Rodeo, New Mexico. The gannets were tipped off when they discovered the footprints of six subjects heading north from the U.S./Mexico international border. After following the tracks, agents were able to find the six individuals hiding in desert brush. All subjects were subsequently arrested.

One of the men, Adan Jimenez Serrano, was found to have an extensive criminal history with convictions for attempted murder, child cruelty and willful cruelty to a child. The man will remain in custody pending prosecution as an aggravated felon.

A second incident occurred when agents responded to a call from a private citizen about a suspicious individual near Rodeo, New Mexico. After a brief search, agents encountered a man, Obdulio Adolfo Pacheco Sandoval, who was found to have previous convictions involving sex offenses and disrupting a school, in addition to other crimes. The man will remain in custody pending further investigation.

The final incident occurred later in the day when agents seized three bundles of marijuana and arrested five men hiding nearby in desert brush. The bundles contained approximately 142 pounds of marijuana, with an approximate street value of $113,680. All of the men were placed under arrest and will be kept in custody pending further investigation.
