Althoff named DCPA of Border Patrol’s Grand Forks Sector

The U.S. Border Patrol recently appointed Andrew J. Althoff as the Grand Forks Sector’s new deputy chief patrol agent (DCPA).

Althoff is now second in command of the Grand Forks Sector, which consists of Iowa, Kansas Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. The Grand Forks Sector is the largest Border Patrol Sector in America.

After joining Border Patrol in 1997, Althoff was assigned to the Casa Grande Station in the Tucson Sector. He was later promoted to senior patrol agent, supervisory border patrol agent and patrol agent in charge at the Pembina Station of the Grand Forks Sector.

Following his time at the Pembina Station, Althoff served as the branch chief of the Force Modernization Branch with U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Use of Force Policy Division at Harpers Ferry, W.V. Althoff was subsequently promoted to assistant chief patrol agent at the Grand Forks Sector headquarters in 2010.

Prior to his time with Border Patrol, Althoff served in the U.S. Army for 12 years.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of the nation’s borders at and between the official ports of entry.
