FLIR’s Teich to retire after more than 30 years of service

Andrew Teich

Andrew C. Teich, president and CEO of FLIR Systems, Inc., recently announced his plans to retire after 33 years in the industry.

Teich will continue to serve in his current role until a successor is appointed.

FLIR’s board of directors will now conduct a comprehensive search for its new CEO. The company retained Korn Ferry International, an executive search firm, to assist in the hiring process.

“Andy has been a strong leader for FLIR, and we are grateful for his accomplishments during his 33 years of dedicated service,” Chairman of FLIR’s Board of Directors Earl R. Lewis said. “As CEO, Andy helped take FLIR’s business to a new level by, among other accomplishments, leading the expansion of our product offerings, entering new markets and completing key strategic acquisitions. We look forward to continuing to work with Andy while we conduct a thoughtful search process and lay the foundation for a smooth transition.”

Teich joined FLIR Systems in March 1999 after it acquired Inframetrics, where Teich worked on the commercialization of thermal imaging technology since 1984. While at FLIR, Teich supported the adoption of thermal imaging technology across multiple markets.

Teich served as the company’s president and CEO since May 2013 and as a member of the board since July 2013. During his tenure as president, FLIR’s annual revenues grew by more than $1.6 billion.

“Succession planning has always been important to the Board, and we are focused on identifying a strong leader who has a record of driving positive financial results and who shares our vision of leveraging the unique attributes of the FLIR brand and product portfolio,” Lewis said. The right candidate will continue to execute on our strategy and build on Andy and our team’s success.”

FLIR Systems, Inc. is an international leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of sensor systems that enhance perception and awareness.
