U.S. Reps. Mark Green (R-TN), Committee on Homeland Security chairman, and Michael Guest (R-MS), Subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement chairman, applauded President Donald Trump signing the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act in law on July 4.

The bill provides resources for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) including more than $46 billion to construct and finish the border wall.

“House Republicans made history today by passing the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act, which will secure our nation’s borders and our communities for years to come,” Green said. “These resources, in lockstep with President Trump’s proven agenda, send a clear message to would-be illegal border crossers, cartels, and transnational gangs — America’s borders will no longer be exploited. I look forward to President Trump signing this legislation into law to continue this new era of border security for the American people.”

“Illegal crossings at the Southwest border in March plummeted 95 percent from last year,” Guest said. “However, the success at our borders won’t last if we don’t provide the necessary resources to help CBP and ICE fulfill their missions. With the passage of this legislation, we will secure our borders and help President Trump deliver on his promises to the American people.”
