The U.S. Department of Defense and Arizona-based Honeywell Aerospace, a diversified technology and manufacturing company, recently partnered to create a framework to increase production of critical components for the ammunitions stockpile.
Honeywell Aerospace will accelerate the delivery of components and the production of navigation systems that guide precision munitions, advanced electronic warfare solutions and high-performance actuators that give missiles their critical maneuverability.
The partnership is part of Honeywell Aerospace’s $500 million, multi-year investment to modernize and expand its manufacturing capacity. It also is part of the department’s Acquisition Transformation Strategy that aims to increase production capacity across the entire supply chain through direct engagement with key suppliers.
“Our strategy is to provide the long-term demand signals that unlock private investment, and this half-billion-dollar commitment from Honeywell Aerospace demonstrates we are succeeding,” Michael Duffey, under secretary of defense for acquisition and sustainment, said. “Thanks to the leadership of President (Donald) Trump and Secretary (Pete) Hegseth, we are building the deep and dominant arsenal of freedom our nation requires by ensuring our entire industrial base can deliver at speed and scale.”
The department’s Munitions Acceleration Council is working with industry leaders to invest in national security. Other contractors include Lockheed Martin and RTX.
