Additional 244 kilograms of cocaine seized from alleged Ohio drug dealers

The Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) recently seized an additional 244 kilograms of suspected cocaine as part of an ongoing investigation of two alleged drug traffickers.

The Southwest Ohio men were arrested on May 10 and charged with conspiring to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute cocaine.

Agencies within the Cincinnati HSTF, the Drug Enforcement Administration Cincinnati District Office and the Cincinnati Police Department received information regarding Damian Galan and Diego Galan’s potential drug trafficking. The Galans were seen traveling together to locations suspected of storing narcotics and drug proceeds in the Columbus area.

On May 9, the men moved four storage containers observed being placed in their vehicle. Law enforcement officials executed search warrants for both Galan residences. law enforcement officers seized approximately 80 kilograms of cocaine, firearms, suspected methamphetamine and cash.

During subsequent searches, investigators discovered the additional 244 kilograms of suspected cocaine, bringing the total to approximately 716 pounds of narcotics with a street value of more than $5.8 million.

“These seizures send a powerful message to drug traffickers operating in this region: we will find you, dismantle your networks, and seize your poison before it reaches our streets,” Joseph Dixon, Detroit Field Division special agent in charge, said.

If convicted, the Galans face between 10 years and life in prison.
