U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) targeted criminal illegal alien offenders and other immigration violators in western, central, and northern New York and apprehended 133 illegal aliens between March 24 and March 28.

During the operation, four criminal search warrants were served for federal violations related to bringing in and harboring certain aliens. The warrants were executed during a worksite enforcement component of the operation and resulted in 18 administrative arrests for violations of immigration law.

Officers arrested 20 illegals who had criminal convictions or charges including nine who previously had been removed from the United States and three who were convicted of homicide.

ICE was assisted by federal law enforcement partners including U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives New York; the Department of State Diplomatic Security Service; the U.S. Attorney’s Offices for the Western and Northern Districts of New York; U.S. Customs and Border Protection Buffalo; Drug Enforcement Administration New York; FBI Buffalo; FBI Albany; and U.S. Marshals Service Buffalo.

The operation occurred days after ICE and its federal law enforcement partners apprehended 370 illegal aliens in Massachusetts, including transnational criminal organizations known to operate in and around Boston and throughout Massachusetts.
